SPVEA is built around one core goal: improving access to mental health care for veterans and their families. The organization’s role is to help reduce barriers that can stand between individuals and the care they need by strengthening connections, supporting coordination, and helping make services more reachable where possible.
SPVEA’s approach is centered on access rather than direct treatment. The organization works to support veterans and their families through community partnerships, coordinated referrals, and charitable assistance for therapy services when approved and available.
SPVEA works to build relationships with licensed mental health professionals, veteran-serving organizations, and community partners that share a commitment to supporting veterans and their families. These relationships help strengthen the local network of care and connection.
Finding the right support can be difficult, especially when someone is already under stress. SPVEA is designed to help connect veterans and their families with appropriate licensed providers and community resources through a coordinated, mission-aligned approach.
For some individuals and families, cost can be a major barrier to care. SPVEA’s charitable model includes supporting access to therapy services through financial assistance when approved and available.
Mental health access is not only about whether care exists. It is also about whether people can realistically reach it. Barriers may include cost, confusion about where to begin, difficulty identifying appropriate providers, or challenges navigating next steps. SPVEA exists to help reduce those barriers so veterans and their families are not left trying to figure everything out alone.
SPVEA does not provide therapy directly, does not operate as a clinic, and does not make clinical decisions. Licensed mental health professionals remain responsible for treatment, diagnosis, and care planning. SPVEA’s role is to support access, connection, and charitable assistance within a nonprofit structure. At SauerPower Veterans Empowerment Alliance, our mission is to provide support and resources to veterans and their families in your community. We believe that no veteran should be left behind and that every veteran deserves access to the care and services they need.
SPVEA’s work is focused on veterans and their families, with an initial emphasis on Arizona’s East Valley and the broader Maricopa County area. The organization is being built to help create a stronger local path to care for those who may otherwise face barriers to getting connected.
SPVEA is in an early organizational buildout stage. As partnerships, systems, and public-facing resources continue to develop, this work is being shaped with an emphasis on responsible growth, clear role boundaries, and long-term mission alignment.
SPVEA’s model is designed to help veterans and their families move closer to care by strengthening the support around them. Through coordination, partnerships, and charitable assistance where appropriate, SPVEA aims to reduce barriers and make the path to care more reachable. We host events throughout the year to raise awareness about the challenges facing veterans and to bring the community together in support of our mission. Check out our calendar to see what's coming up.
Whether you are a veteran, family member, licensed provider, community partner, or supporter, SPVEA welcomes mission-aligned connection as the organization continues to grow.
